Today I Am…. A cleaner of pubes

Yes you read that right a cleaner of pubes.

For the past few weeks my 11 year old has been asking if she can shave the hair from her bits. Mainly because she says its annoying. I agree being a female is sometimes annoying having to deal with periods and hairy armpits etc.

I’ve tried to steer her away from shaving her private region for multiple reasons (that I wont go into, but you can imagine the shaving rash horrors). Instead I suggested that she trim the hair so that it is shorter. She proceeded to tell me that shaving is a basic human right (I don’t know how I held my tongue or didn’t burst out laughing there and then) and that all of her friends were allowed to shave.

I caved in slightly and purchased her a small trimmer for private areas (which arrived today) and showed her how it all worked via the instruction booklet. The one we purchased is here.

We even discussed that I might have some ideas of what it is like being a tweenager, as I used to be one and that I was offering advice based on experience. It all fell on deaf ears 🤣

What I didn’t remember to mention or discuss is that it should be used in the shower!

Hence me cleaning millions of tiny pubes at 9pm on a Friday evening from the bathroom floor 🤦when I should be drinking wine.

There should be a book about what mothers really do on a day to day basis and it should be a mandatory read when you are pregnant. What did you not expect to do as a mum today? Comment below…..
